A mural is a complete composition, so its placement deserves attention before the panels are ordered.
Measure the finished surface
Record the wall width and height, including any changes in height or shape. Tell the supplier about slopes, recesses, and other unusual features. Follow the supplier’s instructions for measurement allowances rather than ordering to an assumed exact fit. Custom products may have limited adjustment options after production.
Map the important details
Think about where the main subject will fall once furniture is in place. A bed, television, or tall cabinet can hide part of the image. Windows and doors can also remove important sections. Review the supplier’s proof or layout carefully, and make sure you understand the panel order and trimming areas.
