02 / PREPARATION
Before the wallpaper goes up
The condition of the wall helps determine the work needed before installation. Send clear photos and mention existing wallpaper, texture, repaired areas, or peeling paint when requesting a quote.
Assess the surface
Old wallcoverings, loose finishes, and uneven areas may need attention first. Your installer can assess whether removal, repairs, smoothing, or additional preparation should be included.
Follow the product requirements
Different wallcoverings have different requirements. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the surface, primer, adhesive, and drying time rather than assuming one method works for every material.
Plan access and timing
Discuss moving furniture, protecting nearby surfaces, and access around the walls. If painting or other work is also planned, agree on the sequence before installation day.
