Planning Wallpaper Around Windows, Doors, and Trim
Plan wallpaper around windows and doors with accurate measurements, pattern placement, and professional wallcovering installation in Tampa Bay.

Windows and doors can make a wallpaper project look smaller on paper while making its layout more complex in practice. For patterned wallcoverings, the visible pieces around an opening still need to belong to the overall design.
Photograph the entire elevation
Send a straight-on photo of each wall, including trim and openings. Record wall width, ceiling height, and the locations of windows and doors. Do not send only the empty section between them; your installer needs to see how the wall connects.
Identify built-in cabinets, mirrors, and wall-mounted fixtures. Explain which items stay in place and which will be removed before work begins.
Choose the visual priority
Consider what you see first from the doorway. A balanced motif above a console may matter more than a hidden corner behind furniture. Large patterns can require additional planning where narrow spaces interrupt the design.

An opening does not automatically reduce material needs by its full area. Strip planning, pattern placement, and trimming can affect how much wallpaper is usable. Confirm the quantity with the installer before ordering.
