An accent wall measurement should describe the usable surface, not only its outer dimensions. Openings, trim, and fixed furniture affect the layout. A simple sketch can communicate more than a single square-foot figure.
Add the interruptions
Record wall width and height, then mark doors, windows, outlets, and built-ins. Note any change in ceiling height or an uneven boundary. Include a straight-on photo and a wider room view so the installer can understand both the surface and its surroundings.
Link measurements to the product
Send the chosen wallpaper details with the drawing. Ask the installer to review quantities and the layout before ordering. If the selected pattern or coverage changes, update the sketch; an estimate for one accent wall may not apply to a different product or a larger area.
