Wallpaper planning
Before Wallpaper Arrives: A Room Readiness Checklist
Prepare your room for wallpaper installation with clear access, product information, and a practical wall preparation checklist for Tampa Bay projects.
Design inspiration imagery: York Wallcoverings. Not an ETT completed project.
A successful wallpaper appointment starts before installation day. York’s installation guidance emphasizes a sound surface and product-specific instructions. Homeowners can help by organizing the project information and making the room accessible without attempting unfamiliar repairs themselves.
Gather the project details
Keep the order confirmation, product labels, and installation instructions together. Identify every wall included in the quote. Tell your installer about any recent paint, old wallpaper, damaged drywall, or moisture concerns.
Photograph the whole wall and then the areas around corners, windows, and trim. These views serve different purposes: the wide photo shows layout, while close-ups reveal surface conditions that may affect preparation.
Make a practical access plan
Discuss who will move furniture, remove wall decorations, and protect nearby belongings. Do not assume those tasks are included in every installation quote. Let the team know about parking, building access rules, pets, and hours when work can take place.
If a room is used as a home office, plan where you will work during the appointment. Keep access to the wallpaper wall clear so the installer can measure and work without repeatedly moving items.
Resolve questions before the appointment
Newly painted walls, damaged surfaces, and uncertain material quantities deserve attention before the job begins. The exact product instructions determine the installation method; a single checklist cannot replace them.
When requesting wallpaper installation in Tampa Bay, send Elliott’s Top Team the measurements and product information early. Confirm the scope, preparation needs, and room access before scheduling.
